Senior Web Developer

Position Summary

Precision Design Studios is seeking a full time ASP.NET Web Developer in our Providence, RI headquarters. The applicant must have a minimum of 3 years of experience in ASP.NET (preferably MVC), C#, and front end web technologies (HTML, JS, and CSS). Successful applicants will work on cutting edge technologies in the eCommerce space supporting a variety of clients in a fast-paced environment with an unbeatable team culture! These positions report to the Senior Solution Architect Team.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

Leads other team members in the development of creative solutions for eCommerce projects in accordance with project objectives
Manages the design, construction, implementation, and support of functionally complex web based software that meets the business requirements
Works with Project Leaders, Business Units, IT Team, and clients to review the business requirements, prepare technical design documents, and develop prototypes as needed
Performs software construction, unit testing, and debugging which may include the preparation of new software, reuse of existing code, modification of existing programs, or integration of purchased solutions
Coordinates and synchronizes software construction done by other developers according to implementation instructions either prepared by the applicant or by a Solutions Architect
Mentors and assists with the professional development of technical staff
Leads, moderates, or participates in code reviews
Production support of release management and emergency fixes including off hours
Design and estimate discrete work items within a larger project structure
Works directly with clients to uncover hidden requirements, understand technical details of 3^rd party integrations, and review user interface designs

Position Requirements/Skills & Competencies:

Significant experience with ASP.NET MVC
Experience with large-scale applications in a leadership role
Significant experience with C#
Broad experience with .NET Framework 4.0+
Experience with data access using Entity Framework
Understanding of best practices in C#, Service Oriented Architectures, MVC and JavaScript
Experience working in mission critical, fast-paced environments
Leadership experience throughout the software lifecycle
Must be a self-starter who requires minimal supervision
Experienced in problem solving and able to follow a methodical implementation process
Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, ability to handle diverse situations, multiple projects and rapidly changing priorities

Additional Technical Skills/Competencies Desired:

Expert-level experience with web technologies such as HTML5, CSS, RAZOR, JQuery, RESTful & SOAP web services, XML, and JSON
Deep understanding of SQL Server 2008 or 2012+ and the appropriate and effective use of database objects
Expert-level experience with one or more emerging technologies such as cloud computing (e.g. Microsoft Azure) or mobile platforms
Experience with MVC 5, design patterns, and modern architectural trends
Strong experience with SQL Server (DB Design, Query Optimization, Indexing)
Experience with SASS/LESS based development a plus
Experience with WCF and/or WF a plus
Familiarity with Team Foundation Server and build management (Git/Source Control/Other DVCS)
Microsoft certifications a plus
Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or related discipline
Prior experience with ecommerce systems (Demandware, Hybris, NetSuite, Oracle, Magento)
