Web Developer


Position Summary

Precision Design Studios is seeking a full time Web Developer in our Providence, RI headquarters. The successful applicant will implement advanced software solutions in the eCommerce space. This position reports to the Solutions Architect and Software Team Leads.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with other team members to develop creative solutions for eCommerce projects in accordance with project objectives
  • Participates in the design, construction, implementation, and support of functionally complex web based software that meets the business requirements
  • Performs software construction, unit testing, and debugging which may include the preparation of new software, reuse of existing code, modification of existing programs, or integration of purchased solutions
  • Coordinates and synchronizes software construction done by other developers
  • Production support of release management and emergency fixes during off-hours
  • Interfaces directly with clients to review requirements, design documents, work-in-progress, and final products

Position Requirements/Skills & Competencies:

  • Familiarity with HTML, JavaScript, and CSS
  • Independent learner able to find solutions in online tutorials, forums, technical documentation, etc.
  • Must be a self-starter who requires minimal supervision but is not afraid to ask for help when needed
  • Experienced in problem solving and able to follow a methodical implementation process
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, ability to handle diverse situations, multiple projects and rapidly changing priorities
  • Ability to communicate with technical and non-technical professionals at all levels
  • Some travel may be required

Additional Technical Skills/Competencies Desired:

  • Experience with ASP.NET MVC
  • Experience with C#
  • Knowledge of building and consuming SOAP and/or RESTful web services
  • Understanding of best practices in C#, MVC, and JavaScript
  • Associates degree in computer science / engineering or equivalent experience preferred
  • Experience working in mission critical, fast-paced environments
  • Leadership experience throughout the software lifecycle a plus
  • Familiar with web technologies such as JQuery, RAZOR, XML, and JSON
  • Knowledge of one or more emerging technologies such as Windows Azure or mobile platforms
  • Prior experience with ecommerce
